{"product_id":"fix-a-leak","title":"FIX A LEAK","description":"\u003cp\u003eThe Fix-a-leak for pools 32 oz bottle is ideal for inground pools that may have developed a leak due to roots putting pressure on the underground plumbing or glue joints that may have developed a leak over the years in the pressure of suction lines. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDosage:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUse 1 quart per pool up to 22,000 gallons.  Do not use in excess of 1 quart per 5,000 gallons of water.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSteps:* Shake Well Before Using*\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eBypass FILTER MEDIA before adding FIX-A-LEAK to water.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eSand filters: set filter valve to recirculate.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eOther types: remove cartridges DE elements from filter tank.  Then proceed to circulate through empty tank.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWith pump running, add FIX-A-LEAK slowly through skimmer or in front of any other suction intake.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAfter adding FIX-A-LEAK adjust suction to main drain.  If this is not possible, the vacuum cleaner could be used alternatively, simply by placing the vacuum in deepest part of pool and connect to normal vacuum connection.  Set filter  valve to normal vacuum position.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFIX-A-LEAK is very heavy and will sink to the lowest point rather quickly.  It must be stirred back into suspension, either manually using a pool broom or mechanically with a automated pool cleaner every 4-6 hrs. during circulation of water.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eContinue to recirculate water until the leak has stopped.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eMark level of water in pool and check for 2-3 days to determine if the leak has stopped.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAfter the leak has stopped and given the proper time to cure (24-48 hrs.) you may return to normal filtration.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eSand Filters: Set filter valve to filter and resume normal operation.  Backwash out unused FIX-A-LEAK as required.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eOther Types: Reinstall filter into tank and resume operation.  Rinse out unused FIX-A-LEAK from filter as required.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eTreatment can be repeated if necessary.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003e*NOTE* Never let cartridges of DE elements be left to dry before they are cleaned.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e*NOTE* Suction Line Leaks\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eSuction Leaks are usually known by air mixed with the water at the return fittings.  \u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIn most cases suction lines only leak water when the filter pump is shut off.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eNormal Circulation will simply draw FIX-A-LEAK away from the leak and if the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003epump is shut off the material will simply not get to the leak.  You must reverse the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eflow of water, to force the material through the leak under pressure.  Preferably \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e5-10 psi. untill the leak has stopped.  When this has been achieved, gradually \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eincrease pressure to 15-25 psi. to insure a proper seal.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eVERY IMPORTANT:\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e After sealing a suction leak \"it\" is a must to leave suction \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eoff the repaired line for no less than 48 hrs.  FIX-A-LEAK requires time to cure and harden.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eMiscellaneous Leaks:\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIf you suspect a leak around fittings inside the pool (such as return fittings) lights, skimmer(s) \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eor steps, etc.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eShut down pump.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eApply FIX-A-LEAK directly to the leak using a squeeze bottle, similar to a ketchup bottle.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAllow a minimum of 48 hrs. to cure before starting up circulation.\u003cbr\u003e*** Will not fix leaks from punctures, cuts or brittle age cracks in vinyl pool liners, do not use in cedar spas.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Hot Tub Outlet","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51834320027929,"sku":null,"price":42.99,"currency_code":"CAD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/2780\/8520\/files\/Canadian-FALfrontview__88960.1714407501.webp?v=1767731158","url":"https:\/\/www.hottuboutlet.ca\/products\/fix-a-leak","provider":"Hot Tub Outlet","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
