Winterizing a hot tub is the process of draining your spa for the winter to prevent cold temperatures from damaging your tub. Here are some steps you can take to winterize your hot tub

Turn off the power. To make sure you don't get zapped or have your tub running, ensure the hot tub’s power supply is disconnected to avoid any electrical hazards or high electric bills!

Drain the hot tub: Use a submersible pump to drain all the water from the tub. Make sure you use a vacuum to collect water your pump can't get!

Remove the filter: Take out the filter and clean it thoroughly.

Blow out the lines: Use a wet/dry vacuum to blow out any remaining water from the pipes and jets. Take time to vacuum up water that is coming out of your jets

Disconnect mechanicals: loosen your unions on the heater and pump, and remove drain plugs.

Add antifreeze: Pour hot tub antifreeze into the pump and filter cavity to prevent any remaining water from freezing.

Secure the cover: Make sure the hot tub cover is secure and in working condition.
