Description
The Jandy JXi VersaFlo Integrated Bypass Assembly Kit is a specialized aftermarket or factory-installed accessory designed for Jandy JXi and JXiQ pool and spa gas heaters. It is primarily used to improve the energy efficiency and lifespan of a pool's heating system by optimizing water flow.
- Bypass Mode: When the heater is not firing, the assembly automatically diverts the majority of water flow away from the heat exchanger. This significantly reduces hydraulic resistance (head loss) in the plumbing system.
- Heating Mode: Once the heater is activated, the flow gate closes, directing the full water flow through the heat exchanger for maximum heating performance.
- Energy Savings: By reducing hydraulic resistance, variable-speed pumps can run at lower speeds while the heater is off. This can result in electricity savings of up to $350 annually.
- Extended Equipment Life: Diverting water when not heating reduces unnecessary wear and corrosion on the internal heat exchanger and minimizes pump strain.
- Warranty Incentives: Some retailers and Jandy documentation indicate that JXi heaters with a factory-installed VersaFlo bypass may receive an extended 5-year warranty on the heat exchanger
